A new window appears to answer patient questionnaire
To save and submit the information inputted in the patient questionnaire, you must assign the patient to a dentist.
A pop up window appears, to assign the dentist. Upon assigning the dentist, another pop up window appears so that you may enter the referring dentist information, or reason for the first visit.
Once you press DONE. The patient file is created and a pending appointment is ready to be scheduled into the calendar
How do you input Patient MEDICAL HISTORY information?
From the dashboard, you can either search for the patient name, or click on the magnifying glass and the full patient list appears

Once you have found your patient, selecting the patient prompts you to enter medical history.
A confirmation window appears: LOGOUT WHEN DONE? if checked, dovetail will log out once the medical history information is submitted.
WOULD YOU LIKE TO DO SO NOW? If the answer is NO, then you may go back to entering medical history BUT you will not be able to create an exam, recall and or treatment plan.
If you answer YES, then you are able to answer all pertinent medical information.
PRESS submit once you have completed answering the medical history questionnaire.
There are 7 tabs within the patient file. CREATE APPOINTMENT, HISTORY, EXAMS, iTP, RECALLS, NOTES, ACCOUNT.
CREATE APPOINTMENT: You can schedule an appointment for an SPT, Specific Exam, or General Exam and assign it to a staff member of the clinic. The appointment will appear in the TO SCHEDULE bin of the calendar.
HISTORY: shows all future appointments, and historical logs, notes related to the patient. This may include collaborating notes from other doctors that have entered information.
EXAM: This tab will allow the hygienist and/or dentist to chart.
iTP: The iTP tab allows the dentist to create a treatment plan(s) with options to offer to the patient.
RECALL: The Recall tab allows the hygienist and/or dentist to document the recall appointment
NOTES: A notepad to create adhoc notes that you wish to have saved in the patient history file.
ACCOUNT: The Account tab is a summary of the patients financial account. i.e. invoicing, and payments.
